What will we learn in science?

Second graders will learn about the science and engineering practices, the structure and properties of matter, the processes that shape the Earth, and the relationships in ecosystems.

Third graders will learn about forces and interactions, weather and climate, inheritance and variation of traits, and the relationships in ecosystems.

Fourth graders will learn about the processes that shape the Earth, energy, waves, structure and function, information processing, as well as matter and energy in organisms and ecosystems.

Fifth graders will learn about the structure and properties of matter, Earth's systems, space, and how matter and energy flow through an ecosystem.

Students will take the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) in the third quarter.
